Hyundai Extends New Car Warranty for Owners Affected by COVID-19

Hyundai extends new car warranty - Gossett Hyundai - Memphis, TN

Hyundai is extending its new car warranty to help owners with financial difficulties during the coronavirus pandemic that currently has much of the world on lock down. Warranties are extended until summer because of the crisis.

Extended until summer

Warranties that were due to expire in March, April, May and June will be honored through June 30. This includes Hyundai’s 5-year/60,000-mile comprehensive warranty, which is one of the longest agreements provided by a mainstream automaker, as well as Hyundai’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

The company is in the process of contacting owners whose Hyundai vehicles will be covered. Auto dealerships with service departments, such as Gossett Hyundai, are generally considered essential businesses and are allowed to be open during the coronavirus pandemic, but the company wants to ensure that customers stay safe and hopes that extending the warranties will increase owners’ peace of mind.

Over a million participants

The extension will cover thousands of Hyundai cars in the United States and 1.2 million cars throughout the world. Hyundai is one of many major automakers in the U.S. who are assisting their customers with delayed payments, shifted due dates or low- to no-interest loans through their in-house financing groups in hopes of increasing vehicle sales at this time.
