The 2020 Hyundai Sonata has been revealed, and it embodies a whole new visual direction for the automaker — entitled Sensuous Sportiness. Borrowing notes from the exceptional Le Fil Rouge concept that bowed in Geneva last year, the eight-generation Sonata takes four-door-coupe styling to an nth degree.
“Sonata celebrates innovative coupe-like silhouette,” said Sang Yup Lee, senior vice president and head of the Hyundai Design Center. “A short overhang, sloping roofline, and low deck lid create a balanced feel, and Hyundai’s signature chrome accent now goes all the way into the hood, making it look even longer. It also has LED lighting built in. These cues bring the Sensuous Sportiness design to life.”
Informing the sumptuous look of the new Sonata are four elements: proportion, architecture, styling, and technology. This is evident not just in the way it looks on the outside, from its Digital Pulse Cascading Grille and ultra-wide taillights, but also on the inside with a clean dashboard layout and rich details throughout.
The 2020 Hyundai Sonata is built on a third-generation platform that provides a lower center of gravity and better handling, making it an all-around more dynamic performer. The new Sonata will be arriving soon at Gossett Hyundai, so stay tuned to learn more about this exciting sedan.
